I am trying to set up my Nest Mini using Google Home.
When I select a region and click next, the screen just flashes very briefly and nothing happens.
I get stuck the whole time choosing the region. Restarting, reinstalling, etc. has so far brought nothing. Choosing any other regions is also not working.
Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

Hi Muddi, my region is Kosovo for the moment. It worked at the beginning when I bought it. The problem started when I had to change the wifi password of the one that my nest 2 was connected and couldn’t connect to the wifi anymore. Now that I need to resetup my nest 2 it’s not working with any of the regions provided.
As per device, I am trying to use the same iphone 11 I had used initially for the 1st setup - nevertheless, now won’t come out of that region setup screen whatever I do choose as a region - seems like the app itself its not working properly.
Honestly, this is the most frustrating experience so far with google products.

@AlbionHsn: Got it! Please note that the Google Home app and Nest Mini are not officially supported in your country. Also, we can only guarantee the full functionalities of the speakers in those countries where the device is officially supported (check lists of countries here). As a workaround, you can change the language on your phone/tablet to EN_US or EN_UK, then try setting up your device again.
We're always looking for ways to improve and make the Google Home/Nest devices available to different regions. Keep an eye out for news and updates.

Hello! I also cannot get past the regions page. No matter how many times I hit continue, nothing happens.
This question is not on the suggested topics page, so the links provided aren’t helpful at all.
I’ve had this device for several years and never had this problem.
So far I have;
Restarted google chrome itself twice
Reset my iPhone
Uninstalled the google home app and restarted
Reset my modem and router

Perhaps there is something broken on Google Nest's servers. There are now 2 other posts in the last 2 hours about not being able to select a "region":

Which Nest speakers or displays are we trying to set up? It seems like this is isolated to iPhone devices only. Could you both try to use an Android phone to set up your devices and let us know if it will make a difference?

I have a google home device. I’ve had it for many years and never had this issue with it before. I live alone and have iPhone. My daughter, and my boyfriend also have iPhones.
Thanks for the idea, but I just don’t know anyone with an android. I’m going nuts without being able to cast on my tv and really need to resolve this!
Any other info would be awesome.

Mine finally started working after I gave up for the day and:
Reset the Nest back to factory settings
Restarted my modem
Set up the Nest as a new product.
The region didn't even come up as a question during this setup. Glad to have fixed it, but it was extremely irritating at the time.

I did a factory reset on the nest mini and it is still not working for me. I also followed the steps from @Princesss . I am living in Germany und using an iphone 11 pro for the configuration.

Thanks for trying. To confirm, what is the language set on your phone? What is the iOS version of your phone? Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app on your phone? How about the Google Assistant app?

For people having this issue, check to make sure you don’t have a VPN on your device. I had the exact same issue. I turned off my VPN and it works like a charm

For us technically ignorant people what is a vpn and how do I turn it off? I just did a factory reset 2 weeks ago on my nest and this is an absolutely new issue after my system crashed. I have no clue why I can’t get past the region selecting screen. I’m using an iPhone 13 to try to reset the nest again

VPN means Virtual Private Network. This type of network allows you to browse the web with more privacy and security. We don't recommend connecting your Google Home/Nest devices as it blocks some of the functionalities of your device. You can check your phone if there are installed VPN applications.
If you're still having issues setting up your device, try using a different phone or set it up using a different network like mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home/Nest device).
