Nest hub boot loop

Milan927
Community Member

My nest hub 1st gen has a grey screen with a white G and it won’t do anything, I tried to reset it with and without recovery mode, but it just showed a white screen. I tried to remove power from it for a day, I’ve plugged it into another outlet and some other stuff but nothing works.

This happened after I removed it from the outlet as it was glitching and I couldn’t change the volume.

Hi Milan927,

Glad you reached out.

I appreciate all the details you've shared and I'd be glad to help you out with this. A few questions I'd like to ask:

  • When did the issue start to happen?
  • Is your device plugged in directly in a power outlet within the wall?

Let's try these steps to see if it would make any changes on its behavior:

  1. Place the device in Recovery Mode (unplug the device then hold down (long press) the volume up and volume down buttons while you plug the device back in. Release the volume button once the device turns back on.)
  2. Attempt a factory reset once device boots into Recovery Mode (hold down (long press) both volume up and volume down buttons at the same time.)

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Princess
