Good to go? Literally got no help from anyone at Google despite numerous chats, emails, phone calls, etc. The thing has been a brick for two months. Is this a serious reply?

Have you tried Placing the device in Recovery Mode (unplug the device then hold down the volume button while plugging device back in. Release the volume button once the device turns back on.) Attempt a factory reset once the device boots into Recovery Mode (hold down both volume up and volume down buttons at the same time.)

I literally work in tech so I've done all of that to exhaustion. I threw it out and bought an Alexa. Thanks for pushing it an update that wasted everyone's money though. This is a known and well documented issue and the only fix it to purchase a new one. We both know that.

FWIW i was instructed to take videos of the device not responding to me and I never once heard back regarding those. Stop making people jump through hoops when you know the only fix is a replacement. The update you pushed out 4Q21 bricked a huge chunk of your first generation nests. You should've owned up to it and fixed it 2-3 months ago. Who holds on to a device that doesn't work for months? No one.
