Nest hub now does not understand YTTV commands

Suddenly yesterday, my Nest Hub doesn't understand the "Play [X] on YouTube TV." Until this point I could just say that line with whatever channel I wanted and it worked fine. Now when I say it, it tells me it doesn't understand the command and does a Google search. If I say "Play YouTube TV" it will show the channel guide but won't let me go to the channel I want. Did a new software update come out? Seems to be a sudden change. (BTW, I've done soft and hard resets already, no change.)

I have the same issue.  This has happened a couple of times, but usually clears up in a few hours.  Been two days.  I have 4 assistants and none of them work.  Last night I was able to get it to play the NFL game by telling it to play the NFL game.  Frustrating.

Yeah, been two days here. Had this in since Christmas without any issues. Just started yesterday. Hopefully it will clear up soon, or I'll be investing in other home automation devices.

Same for me.  It also reboots itself at least once a day now, but not being able to control YTTV at all by voice is really something.

If you look at Live TV apps on Google Home, it only lists Sling, not even Youtube TV.  I read earlier that Youtube TV is in a dispute with Roku which may have lead to it no longer being available on Roku.  Perhaps some moron programmer deleted all Live TV except Sling.

Interesting... One would think (if not expect) that Google would make their devices work with their hardware. I gave that a look and also the 'Video' tab where several other providers are listed, but you're right YTTV is not one of them. Maybe I need to move to Sling then?

I was able to ask it to show me a channel guide for Youtube TV.  You can then scroll through it and select the channel you want manually.  Of course, you could always cast to the hub from another device.  I have also done that.  Good luck!

The majority of the time, it won't respond from the channel guide. It's been pretty obnoxious actually.

Hi All,

Thank you for reaching out. I am sorry to hear that your Google Assistant is not giving the correct results for your YouTube TV search commands.

At this moment, this is a new issue that we are aware of. To better assist the team, I would appreciate it if all of you could send in feedback through your Google Home app or device with the words "GHT3 YouTube TV command is not working." It will allow them to look more in-depth into this issue.

I apologize for the inconvenience caused by this issue and will keep you all updated.

Hi All,

For those who sent in feedback, I appreciate it! Just wanted to check in on this thread, do any of you have any new updates or is this issue still occurring?

Thank you for your patience!

This is still an issue. YouTube tv is not an option for live tv and can only be cast to the hub from another device.

Having the exact same issue since yesterday. Anytime I tell it to play TBS for example, it plays it on YouTube. Can get the screen guide and cast OK but won’t play by voice command. Also noticed it’s missing from live tv option. Anyone have any luck?

Yes, having the exact same problem here.  I think it’s a google thing and nothing on our end.  Hope they fix it soon.
