Nest hub sleep sounds change volume at exactly 06.02 each day

I have sleep sounds going all night until I turn them off in the morning, which is great, but the sound turns down to volume 9 every day at exactly 06.02. How can I stop this from happening and have the sleep sound continue at the set volume ?

Hi MlleJB,

Thanks for posting—let's get this sorted out. Are you getting a notification that the volume is dropping to 9? Try doing the steps below:

  • Unplug the power cord from your Google Nest Hub for a minute > Plug it back in.
  • Open the Google Home app > Devices > Tap your Google Nest Hub device > Settings > Remove device > Remove.
  • Back on the Devices tab, scroll down to Other cast or Local device > Tap your Google Nest Hub > Add to a room. Follow the instructions in adding it back to a room.
  • Play sleep sounds and let me know how it goes.

Hello Alex,

I did the steps listed of unplugging the device for more than a minute, removing it from my home hub, plugging it back in, reconnecting it to my home hub and configuring it from scratch, but unfortunately it still did the same thing this morning. The sleep sounds, flowing sounds of a river, go from the volume I set them at of 45 to volume 9 at exactly 06.02. There is no notification that the volume is changing, it the nest hub just turns the volume down without any notification, voice, telling me it's changing it.

Is there something else I can do to stop it doing this ?

Thank you, Jennifer

Hello Jennifer,

We appreciate all your efforts. When you said configuring it from scratch, did you mean a factory reset? Do a factory reset if you haven’t tried it yet. If yes and the issue persists, our team would like to take a look at this. Kindly fill out this form and let us know once you're done.

Best,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thank you for the suggestion to factory reset the hub as that seems to have fixed the problem of the sound reducing. It stays on at the set volume all the time now until I manually or verbally change it. I am keeping an eye on it to ensure it keeps working properly, but at this point, I think it's been fixed. Does that mean there is no longer a need to complete the submission form ?

Hi Jennifer,

I’m happy to hear that! Let’s continue monitoring your Google Nest Hub device for now. Let me know in case you notice the issue happens again—we’ll proceed with submitting the form then.

Cheers,
Alex
