Nest mini does not respond to commands while playing content

More often than not, while the nest mini is either playing music through music services or through bluetooth, it always take few attempts to register the voice commands. Usually the first 3 commands will just end up the 4 LEDs blinking and a beep, and only on the 4th trying it will register. This issue has been there for long and I wonder why is it so.

Is anyone else facing the same problem?

Hi, I've got the same problem. I've tried resetting the nest mini but that didn't help.

Looking at how it happened, it should be software bug or software/hardware integration issue. Once in a while it will happen to outside of playing media.

Also, you might want to check these settings to see if this would make any changes:

 

To turn off this feature, follow these steps:

  1.  Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  4. At the top right, tap Settings and then Audio and then turn off Lower volume when listening Off
