Nest mini won't link to Google Account

I just purchased a 2nd Gen Nest Mini. Setup proceeds perfectly until i get tot he "before using your Google Assistant" . All I'm supposed to do is press "next" when I do I get this error "There was an error when linking your account. Please try again!" Which I do and I get he the same error again and again. What could keep it from progressing in this step. I have 6 other google devices set-up on my home app and I have never had this problem before. 

  • I have factory reset the device
  • I have restarted my phone
  • I have removed and reinstalled the "home" app

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out. We'd love to help.

Make sure you are following these steps to factory reset your Google Nest Mini. Uninstall and reinstall your Google Home app, then set up your device. If the issue persists, try using another Google Account to configure your unit.
