Nest speakers in stereo pair

So I recently moved into my college dorm and I brought my smart speaker with me but at home I had 2 Nest Minis in my room but I left one back home to have when I visit. Previously when I lived at home my speakers were set in a stereo pair and when I moved to college I didn’t separate the stereo pair before moving. When I got to my dorm I set up my speaker and it still shows that the two are connected even though my speakers are on separate Wi-Fi’s and have both been rebooted since. No matter how many times I try to separate the pair I cannot get the two to separate it still continues to show that they are connected. Does anyone have a fix?

So you've already tried these steps?

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Touch and hold the stereo pair's tile.
  3. At the top right, tap the Settings gear > Separate stereo pair > Separate.

If those steps don't work, did you try resetting the speaker not just reboot?
