Nest won’t connect to new wifi

Desperate for help!

I have a 2nd gen Hub, doorbell and a couple of battery cams. I’ve recently changed my internet, same provider but a different modern. Nothing will connect now! I’ve reset everything to factory settings, I’ve separated the internet into 2 seperate available wifis, 5 GHz and 2.4GHz (2.4 for the hub only).

the setup of the hub works but the I cannot connect the doorbell or cameras, I’ve reset, I’ve installed, uninstall, called support and spent far too long trying to fix this. The new modern is the Nokia 5GHz wifi.

I had this problem. I was using the incorrect password. I could not see the space in the password I entered for the wi-fi. When I removed the space everything was ok.

Check for spaces in the password. This is harder than what it seems.

The link did not say what I said. I think it needs updating to say check that you are using the correct password.

Hey there,

We understand. In line with this, follow the steps below to get you connected to your new Wi-Fi.

Set up your speaker or display on the new Wi-Fi network:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. At the top left, tap Add > Set up device > New device > set up new devices in your home.
  3. Follow the in-app steps.

If these steps don’t solve the issue, you’ll need to factory reset your speaker or display, then set it up again.

If your speaker or display is connected to an existing Wi-Fi network, but you'd like to connect it to a new one, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. At the top-right corner, tap Settings > Device information.
  4. Next to 'Wi-Fi', tap Forget. You’ll be taken back to the Home app home screen.
  5. Follow the setup steps to set up your device on the new Wi-Fi network.

If you get an error message that says 'could not communicate with your [device]' when you try to forget your network, or the steps above don't work, you'll need to factory reset your device and set it up again.

Kind regards,

Dan

I eventually connected to my new device. My point is that the above instructions are not complete. They do not say check the password used is correct. Even better they do not mention that spaces at either end of the password would be invisible.
