Look and Talk does not work on the nest hub max. It recognizes my face and brings up information related to me. When I say a command the corner of the screen shows the voice recognition bubble with colored lines (not grey) and as I talk the colored lines change size with the volume of my voice BUT they never execute the command.
Google assistant language settings set to English US. Face Match checked. Look and Talk On.
Tried changing language settings and changing back. Tried rebooting. Tried factory reset. Tried retraining my face (even though based on what I am seeing it is recognizing my face fine). Also tried these trouble shooting options individually and in combination with each other. Nothing works. This feature seems really half baked in terms of its reliability based on what I have seen from the Reddit threads on this topic. Would appreciate any help on how to fix.
Thanks!

Same issue here. Purchased and setup Nest Hub Max last week and have gone through all the routine steps multiple times as you have listed with no luck with Look and Talk. Also no resolution through the Google Advisors chat.

Hi everyone,
We appreciate your efforts in taking those steps. Let’s try to retrain your voices. Open the Google Home app > Settings > Google Assistant > Voice Match. Look for “Teach your Assistant your voice again and then retrain. Then, let’s confirm that Guest Mode is off—“Hey Google, turn off Guest Mode.” Reboot your Google Nest Hub Max, then check if the Look and talk feature works now.
If the issue persists, get its System firmware version: swipe up from the bottom of the display > Settings > About device.
Regards,
Alex

Magically, out of nowhere (and after I posted my reply) it randomly started working for the first time today…and I’ve done nothing. Also not sure if an update was automatically pushed through in the last 24 hours.

Also started working for me randomly the other day. Didn’t post about it since I thought it wouldn’t be permanent but it seems to be stable now
