New Google Nest Audio not pairing

I'm having the toughest time trying to connect my new Newt Audio speaker to an iPad. It tells me to open the Google Home app and after following the instructions, I can never connect it to my wifi. Everything appears simple but my iPad does not discover the device in the wifi setting.

A few questions: is this the first time you're setting up your Google Nest Audio? Are you getting any message when you're trying to connect it to your network? Also, are you using a private home network? Check this guide for more information on how to set up Google Nest devices.
