I currently have 2 Google Display's (the large one and the small one). I'm trying to go into the large one to update the Wifi network it connects to but when I try to go into the settings on my iPhone 14 Pro, all I get is Problem connecting to cloud. I've tried rebooting the device, I've tried unplugging it and waiting for ~10 minutes, then plugging it back in, nothing but this error. I can't update the Wifi network on the device itself, I have to update it through the app, but I can't do that when all I get is problem connecting to cloud. I've seen various people report this same issue on different devices as far back as 2019 with no solutions. Are you seriously telling me that in 4 years Google can't resove this issue? It seems to me if your equipment is this bad, this shouldn't be on the market. How else can I update the settings on this device since apparently the app is worthless. And btw, the small Display doesn't have the issue, it seems to work fine.

Maybe Google Nest's instructions for changing a display's Wi-Fi network will help:

That would be great, but if you read the steps you sent, the first thing it says is to go into the device and go to Settings... I can't do that because when I try to go into Settings, that's when I get the Can't connect to the cloud error. Which is why this is so frustrating, seems like Google has been aware of this issue for more than 4 years, and this error prevents you from basically changing anything on the device.

Are you also unable to do the last resort of a factory reset? If you can, it would be better to remove your Nest Hub Max from the Google Home app first.

I can't even remove the device from the app, anything that requires me to go into Settings for the device just returns the Problem connecting to cloud error. From what I can tell there is no way to do anything with this device that doesn't require you to go into Settings for the device. I just started the reset, I don't see any other option to try.

Ok, so I was finally able to get this resolved. Here were my steps:
1. I took the old Nest Hub Max out of the room (just left it out of the room).
2. Did a factory reset on the Nest Hub Max (note that I could NOT remove the device first because of the problem connecting to cloud errror).
3. I then reset it up as a NEW device, I did not copy over the settings, but set it up as a new device.
And now I can go into Settings, I put it on the right wifi. I have verified that I can go into Settings.
The nice thing is when I go into the app, I am NOT seeing the original device (just not in a room), it doesn't show at all.
Thanks for your help!
