Rebooting on its own

I am wondering if anyone else has been experiencing lately their Google home speaker restarting on its own anytime it completes a task. We don’t have much tied to this device so we mostly use it for lights. Anytime I tell it to turn on or off lights (which are smart wall outlets with lights plugged into them) it completes the task and then restarts. When I tell it to play music (logged into Spotify) it will work for a song or two and then restarts itself. I checked that the firmware is up to date and it is 2.57.375114.

Hi AmberEaton,

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing with your Google Home device. Let’s further look into it. Have you already tried doing some troubleshooting steps? Give this a try:

  • Unplug the power adapter from your Google Home device for a minute > Plug it back in.
  • Open the Google Home app > Devices > Tap your Google Home > Settings > Remove device > Remove.
  • Back to the Devices tab, scroll down to Other Cast/Local Device > Tap your Google Home > Add to a room. Follow the instructions in adding it back to your room.
  • Monitor.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Alex
