My device still is repeating the same songs... issue has not been resolved for me...

Ok so this is what assistant got it unstuck for me.  I asked the mini to play songs from my YouTube library, it loaded the YouTube Music app on my phone and began playing the automatically downloaded music. <I've yet to figure out how to make it play the music that I've uploaded other than manually going into the uploads folder and letting it cast to the mini>

Anyhow I let it cast a few songs from my uploads folder then closed the app after stopping casting.  It seems to be working now like it should.

I still want a way to ask for my uploaded music without having to resort to casting from my phone though.

But the same song issue resolved itself after doing the above.

Mine was doing it all afternoon today while I was working. It was playing blind melon every second or third song and then it started repeating other songs. It was also doing this the last time I used it to play from YouTube

Mine is still repeating on all devices

This has been happening on my v1 home hub only. If I say “hey Google, play music”. It will play a few songs and then start repeating them. If I say, “hey google, play [artist] radio” it will work like playing a radio on the YouTube Music app. This just started happening recently. It used to seem to play from my Supermix, which was way better than the current repeating situation. The iPhone app works fine.

Yes, I'm having the same problem. Really annoying. I found that thread https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/Same-songs-keep-getting-repeated-when-p... but no solution

I am having the same problem 😕

My Google Nest Hub speaker keeps repeating songs in YouTube music.

I am not casting from my phone. I just ask google to play music and it keeps looping through the same set of songs.

Anyone having the same issue ?

Thanks.

Hi Jotarcon,

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing with playing YouTube music on Google Nest Hub. There’s a main thread for this issue, so I’ll merge this into that one. You’ll receive all updates on this issue in the main thread, and we recommend updating and checking that thread when needed.

Kind regards,
Alex

I am continually having the same problem for about a month

Yes.  I thought I was going crazy.  For the last month or so it has been doing this.  So frustrating.

Yes  very frustrating

I am seeing the same behavior. It started with two songs that kept appearing every two unique songs or so. Then it escalated into the two repeating songs looping endlessly. That was about three weeks ago. Now I am seeing about 4 repeating songs. I can usually bypass it it with "hey google.. skip" but that is not a long term solution.

Mine will only skip so many times because I don't have a subscription. I've even asked it to shuffle music and that doesn't work.

I want to add when this issue started for me, my Nest Hub also started playing music videos for the repeating songs. Previously, I would only get the song with album card and name on the screen (without the constant repeats). I'm not sure if these are correlated, but if I just want to listen to music, I don't want the videos. Or at least give me the option of video or no video on the device.

It usually goes 1-2 songs without video, next song has video, then they all play videos and the repeat cycle begins.

Also noticed this!

Still not resolved.  Why?

I'm seriously looking into a reliable option. I don't like paying for what I'm not getting.  This is beginning to get ridiculous.

I also have this issue with all the speakers (3 Nest Mini's) in my house. I don't currently pay for premium but I am using YouTube Music and am seeing the same problem. I did realize today that when I gave the command to play music it's not building a queue but just playing one song and then looping 3/4 at random.

We have this on our Google minis.... nest minis.... Google home hub.... nest hub max etc etc.

You know and are aware of the issue.... it's cleary the same issue affecting all.

Please stop making us all jump hoops.

As for unblinking then re-linking the youtube premium account.... there's no option to do this... unless you have another music service to switch to.  It won't let you simply unlink ytp.

If we all do this.... we'll all just realise we could be using the other service and not have this issue.

To confirm it happens with all members / recognised voice in our 'household'.

Please update us or give us something different to try from what you've posted already.  It doesn't work.  You've had enough time.

Whole-heartedly ageed.! I'm about there and finished paying for as described.

I'm not getting as described!

Adding one more to the list of "repeating song" victims.  For me, it started about 2 weeks ago to the command I use 95% of the time, "Google, play my music". It had really dialed in to songs I liked, but now it's horrible, repeating just 3 or 4 songs.

I just linked this feed to a new feed on YouTube music support community. Hopefully, someone on Google's YouTube Music team will be able to resolve this issue.

This is the link to that feed:

Having the same exact issue as described but mine is repeating the same two songs over and over again!

I’m continually having the same problem for about a month with my Nest Hub

I've been having the same problem as well for over a week across all three of my speakers. If I ask my Google Nest Hub (Gen 1), Google Nest Mini, or Google Home Mini to play a specific song, every single time without fail it will play the song I requested, then play two more songs, and then repeat those two songs back and forth indefinitely. So it goes like:

Me: Hey Google, play song A

Google: *plays song A*

Google: *plays song B*

Google: *plays song C*

Google: *plays song B*

Google: *plays song C*

Google: *plays song B*

Google: *plays song C*

Etc...

This issue ONLY happens on my Google speakers, not on the YouTube Music app in my phone. Telling Google to skip doesn't resolve it because it just skips to the next instance of song B/C. The only way I can get Google to play songs without repeating is if I just tell it to "play music" in general without specifying what music, but having a music subscription where I can't choose what music I listen to is pointless. I'm extremely disappointed that I paid for these three devices AND pay a monthly subscription to YouTube Music just to not be able to listen to the music I want.

YouTube Music is the only music provider I have. My devices' cast firmware are as follows:

Google Nest Hub: 1.69.362882

Google Nest Mini: 1.56.356012

Google Home Mini:  1.56.356012

Update: Telling Google to "play music" without specifying what music is no longer working as a fix for me. For some reason now after the first two songs it exclusively plays Paramore. Specifically Paramore, every single song every time I've tried today. They're great and all, but I would really like to have the option of listening to another band or artist.

Update for anyone else experiencing the same issue in case it helps: Telling Google to shuffle after it starts playing the same band/artist over and over seems to be working as a temporary fix. Still sucks that I can't choose what music I listen to though.

Never mind, it's back to repeating the same handful of songs back and forth again, just in a random order now. Getting pretty frustrated with this because I work from home and generally spend ~8 hours a day listening to music on my Google Nest while I work, but it hasn't been working correctly for over a week. How do I request a refund of this month's charge since I'm not actually receiving the service I'm paying for?

Update: Trying to contact Google through the "contact us" button in the YouTube Music app just gives me a "something went wrong" error. Are they trying to prevent people from reaching out for refunds while their service is broken? How else can I contact them about this issue?

Started a couple of months ago. Previously I would say 'play music' and it would play a full playlist based on my previous activity. Now it locks to a 2 song playlist on repeat. This is using YouTube Music. Have tried rebooting after 3 minutes to no avail.

i’m having the same issue and so far have not been able to find a solution. i don’t want to have to ask it to play a specific song every time. it’s very frustrating

As of this evening,  it seems to be fixed for me.  Hopefully a solution has been found and I didn't just get lucky

False alarm, after around 10 songs the speaker finds the three songs it wants to loop again

Buckey62910

Same crap here this morning. Reapeating the same two songs over and over. Time to start asking for refunds on charges.

They've had more than enough time to sort out this disaster.
