Hi

When I select a random song to play on Google from my you tube account, 2 songs repeat on loop, which is very annoying

Can you tell me how to stop this from happening?

Thank you

JD

You've been silent now for a month. Is this the mighty Google throwing its weight behind a solution or a snub to us many millions of minions paying top dollar for a crappy service?

Add and similar songs to your request

Works if you say

Ok Google play " song name" and add and similar songs

I am still on my trial period and this worked when I first signed up but for the last week when I ask for specific artist I get one song then a random one then a couple more of the requested artist then it starts repeating!

I have canceled my Youtube Premium and Youtube Music which is very disappointing...

Yes, I've noticed it as well. It will play my song plus 2 others then play the same songs over and over. Any help in resolving this will be appreciated.

How longer should right wait until i can't repudio song as normal again? This issue is long enough!!

Mine will play a new song when asked however it always reverts to the same 3  songs on a loop afterwards.  It's hard to believe that I pay $22.99 a month for this!

The problem is the same with the free account of Youtube Music.

Normally you can ask to play music, a genre or an artist.

It starts looping again after several songs.

Is there any update on this issue.  This has been going on wayyyy too long for as expensive this service is.

I’m here because I’m trying to find a fix as well. This is so incredibly frustrating.
Hoping a resolution will be determined soonest.
Thanks so much!

Is there any update? This is driving me nuts.

I still have this problem. How do I fix it please

Casting from the phone seems to work fine. But I guess the point is to the Hub work by itself without other source! (it would be nice just to have a functional app like in the phone)

Mine started writing correctly. I don't know if it will stay.

Steps I took.

Started assistant on my phone manually so the home mini didn't hear.

I said "play [song name #1]" It opened YTMusic and played.

After a few songs I casted that to my home mini. It worked.

I stopped that and said "okay google play [song #1 again]" no casting this time

After it worked for several songs, I stopped it and said "okay google play [song name 2]". It played that song and kept going fine.

I stopped it and said "okay google play some music"

I've been listening for about an hour now and it's working fine. Who knows if it will stay working?

Agree 100%. I did the same & no regrets😊

I’ve done this but then the next time I go to play music on a different day, it goes back into a loop 🤦🏾‍♀️

So annoying! 🤦‍♂️

It should just work though. Alphabet is a multi-trillion dollar tech company that's meant to specialise in these kinds of things...

I am also having the same issue with my Nest hub playing YouTube music ☹️

I’ve been having this issue for a month or so on all of my google devices (I have 6). Plays 5 songs and then repeats. If you ask to shuffle it will just change the order of the 5 songs.  Wtf is happening?

This is an absolute disaster, and completely undermines, the purpose of integrating, Google Home and YouTube Music. I used to boast about how good YouTube Music was at curating your music selection. This is obviously a glitch with a recent update, and Google/YouTube Music just needs to acknowledge it, and fix it. Instead, they send us into a death loop of Canned responses from  tech-support. Obviously, tech-support has no idea what to do, and Google/YouTube Music will not acknowledge this issue. I am on the verge of canceling.

Same. Annoyingly, they couldn't care less if we cancel.

Hey everyone, I just fixed this for me.  Go into youtube music -> settings ->  playback -> and then turn off dynamic queue.  No longer listening to the same two songs on repeat.

But then it'll just play any old crap instead of stuff I actually want to listen to

Mine started working as regular. I reset everything modems, switches, everything. It is now working as regular.

It is pretty clear from the responses above that this is an issue with YT music, and not with the nest itself. I had the same issue as everyone else and tried the nest-specific suggestions offered above (turning it on/off, doing a factory reset), but nothing worked. Yes, asking for specific music or manually streaming music from your phone avoids this problem, but that's not how I've tended to use the nest, and I don't want to change my routine because of a glitch in my music streaming service. The one solution that actually worked was canceled my YT music account and switching to spotify. Everything is working great now, no more issues with the two-step loop of death!

TBH YT music has been going downhill for a while now, and I would encourage anyone reading this with a subscription to make the switch to a more reliable music streaming service. I had a subscription for almost a decade, but have been getting more and more fed up by the increasingly-glitchy behavior and poor support for everything to do with downloaded music. Google play music used to be so good, and I still don't know why they discontinued that and replaced it with something that (IMO) was just worse across the board. But that's water under the bridge at this point, the main benefit right now is switching from YT music will give you your nest back again 🙂

I casted to my home mini from my phone for a few minutes and when stopped casting it got it out of the loop. If y'all don't don't want to go through the hassle of changing providers, I'd give it a shot first to see if it works on yours. I posted the exact steps I took either yesterday or the day before but these things get lost.

I tried that and it did work temporarily. I temporarily paused my membership overnight and had it play overnight. It didn't repeat songs so I unpaused my membership and it's been working fine for a couple days now.

It seems like it's definitely a youtube music issue but it has different fixes for each individual. In a perfect world youtube would identify and properly correct this issue. Until then I guess we'll have to just wing it or change providers.

It's unbelievable how this issue can be completely ignored for over a month and no one from the company looks at it.  In the meantime they just push the issue on us "what firmware do you have" "have you tried rebooting".  Sure these would be acceptable answers when one single user is having the problem.  It's clear from this post that it affects every device type, a lot of users, normal workarounds don't fix the problem, etc.

@Princesss @Dan_A is there anything happen here or the only solution really is to switch to Spotify?

Hi,

Just to add my voice to this. Saying "hey google, play me some music" means that some of the songs are repeated.

any news on a fix?

This is on Google Home

Like many folk on these threads, I started experiencing this issue over a month ago -- while there are many bugs with the devices (like your account is being used on too many devices, when I'm home alone; like the device not responding to stop, until you tell it to play a new song, following that account glitch) -- this bug is clearly related to the YT Music dynamic queue.

As many of us are paying for YouTube premium solely for YT Music, it's unfortunate that youtube product management is not addressing the bug.

Again, for those looking for a fix - it's plain broken - you can disable the Dynamic queue or you can go ahead and tell it to play a particular playlist that you want -- but the feature for automatic radio is and remains broken.

Thank you!  Thank you! It appears this solution has likely worked!  You would think Google would test features before launching.

I had to also factory reset after disabling the dynamic queue. Just for anyone for whom this doesn't seem to do it, try that also.

Didn't fix my problem.  Going to try factory reset and see if that completes the fix.
