Speakers and hub suddenly stopped working

Jacqui66
Community Member

My speakers and hub stopped working when I call hey Google the response is “I can’t connect to the wifi network you may want to check the settings in the Google home app.
I have tried restarting the devices but they still cannot connect. Everything was working perfectly fine before. Any suggestions to this problem?

Try these steps:

  1. Make sure your speaker is within 15 - 20 ft (4 - 6 m) of the Wi-Fi router if possible.
  2. Reboot your router. Most routers just require that you unplug the power source and then plug it back in to reboot.
  3. Reboot your speaker by removing the power cable, then reconnect it. (You mentioned having already done this, but it's worth doing this again after restarting your router).

If the issue persists:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap the Devices tab.
  3. Press and hold your speaker.
  4. Tap the settings cog at the top right.
  5. Tap Device information.
  6. Tap Wi-Fi.
  7. Tap Forget this network.
  8. On the Devices tab, tap + Add.
  9. Tap New device.
  10. It should find your speaker, tap Next and follow the steps on screen.
