Spotify won't link to my Google Home account

Hi! I’m having trouble connecting my Spotify account to the google home app on iOS. When I go to link my Spotify through the music section on the app it seems to be working (App > settings > music > link Spotify). It opens the Spotify app that I am logged into using the same Gmail email address and has a little pop up that says “authorizing” which changes to a tick, but then… nothing. It doesn’t change to a different screen or flick back to the google home app. If I go back to the home app myself it’s back to the linking page it still shows as unlinked. I went to my Spotify account and it shows I have made the connection but google home doesn't show anything. Spotify can recognize the nest mini as a speaker and play through it but I just can’t link the account on the Home app so when I try to ask to play from a playlist it just plays from YouTube which is annoying. I have deleted both apps & re-downloaded, refreshed both apps, signed in and out and even disconnected my Spotify and re-connected it but nothing is working. Any suggestions?

Delete the Spotify app, re-link Spotify from the Home app (which forces Google to use its own auth screen instead of redirecting you to the Spotify app), then re-download Spotify.

Just piling on...I'm having the exact same issue with my brand new Nest Hub and the Home App. My Spotify account shows the App is connected.

Delete the Spotify app, re-link Spotify from the Home app (which forces Google to use its own auth screen instead of redirecting you to the Spotify app), then re-download Spotify.

I was hoping otherwise because of the many Spotify songs I'd downloaded for offline play but, yes, this appears to be the only workable solution. Thanks for confirming, elowing!
