Swipe Up not working on new 2ndGen Nest Hub mini

Hello all,

Swipe Up is not working on my new device. Therefore i can’t set up sleep sensing - the main feature I was intending to use.

i’ve tried unplugging and waiting 5 minutes. Any other suggestions? Should I return it as faulty?

Thank you!

Same here. Swiping up doesn't work on Nest Hub Gen 2. Trying to enable motion sense but didn't get it worked.

Hi folks,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should. You can perform a factory data reset to put the device back to its default setting then set it up again as a new device. Once done setting up observe if it will make a difference. Check the steps below for guidance.

Here’s how to do the reset,  press and hold the volume up and down button located at the back of your Google Nest Hub together for about 10 seconds. You'll hear your Google Assistant confirm that it's resetting your Google Nest Hub.

Check this link for more information.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Juni

Thanks Juni. i’ve done factory reset but the problem is my device doesn’t offer a bottom menu to swipe up on at all. the menu is at the top, and the Settings cog only has 3 options - not the Sleep Sensing calibration option. I wonder if it’s a problem with the software version. Could it accidentally have Gen1 software? It looks like a Gen2 device (no beville around the screen) but the menus are not as described on Gen2 info.

i’d appreciate your thoughts!

Hey PearyJean,

Chiming in. Could you send us a photo showing the firmware version of your device. To see the firmware version, follow the steps below:

  1.  Swipe up from the bottom of the display screen.
  2. Tap Settings > About device. You should find your "Cast firmware version."
    • For Nest Hub (1st gen) and Nest Hub Max: If “Fuchsia Version” is also listed, this means your device runs Fuchsia.

Keep us posted.

Cheers,

Muddi
