I have 5 good Nest Hub devices and they are all having issues with getting Spotify to consistently play either asking them directly or casting from Spotify on my iphone.
Spotify works fine from my iphone or a PC on the same wireless network without issue.
I have reset all devices to no avail, I think there is a genuine issue at hand and was hoping to get support.

I have a similar issue that started a month or so ago... I ask Google to play music on Spotify and it appears to be playing but there is NO SOUND and then after some amount of time it will replay the same song WITH SOUND and may randomly play or NOT play the sound of future songs. I've rebooted, cleared cache on the Spotify phone app to no avail. Very frustrating!
Google Sopport... any suggestions????

Hi folks,
Thanks for posting and letting us know about your concern. Are you trying to play music on a speaker group or individual Google Nest speakers? Is it happening via casting or voice command? You can try playing music using YouTube music and observe if you get the same experience.

Juni

Hi Juni,
i tried the solution someoen else recommended to no avail. I removed and then re-added our Nest we keep in our kitchen to my account. We typically, just say "google play... " for a particular album or artist and it defalts to our Spotify account. For the past years it has been flawless, but about 3-4 months ago we noticed that it would start to play the music but there was no sound. You could even see the play indicator scrolling down the time played but no sound. Then sometimes after it played the first song it would replay it and this time with sound! Then it may play a few songs then again go silent even though the play time indicator continues to show the song playing down. Very strange but also very frustrating. I tested the Nest by asking it to play from Pandora and it was successful with no hicups. Not sure what I can do on the Spotify side to remedy this. The Amazon hockey puck we have in the same room will play Spotify just fine (but we like the fidelity better on the Nest, thus why we want tp play music on it!). Any ideas to remedy this are welcome. Thanks.

Hi JohnTish,
Thanks for the details you’ve shared. What Google Nest speakers do you own? Try the factory reset; this erases all your personalized settings and restores the factory default settings. It won’t automatically reconnect to WI-Fi, and you’ll need to set it up again. Check out the article below to know more about it.
Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays

I have the exact same issue. Have reset devices and it has not helped. YouTube music plays fine Spotify does not on the nest display devices. However, Spotify appears to play fine with the regular Google home speaker. Def something related to the Google display devices and Spotify.
