Video is not working on Meet calls

MarkR2

My parents have a Nest Hub Max that I use to call them with Meet. For the past couple of months, every time I call them they're able to answer the call but there video doesn't display. They've confirmed that the video is turned on. Restart the device by unplugging/plugging fixes the issue, but they're required to do that every time I call. Is there a fix for this that didn't require a restart every time I call?

Hi MarkR2,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue. I know how important it is for you to be able to communicate with your parents through video chat using the Google Nest Hub Max. Let's go ahead and try removing and re-linking their Google Meet account from the Google Home app to refresh the connection between the apps.

Follow these steps below to know-how:

  1. On your mobile device, open the Google Home app.
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings > Voice & video calls > Unlink Duo from this device > Unlink.
  4. Force close the app on your phone, then re-open the Google Home app.
  5. Go back to device setting by tapping your device tile from the Google Home app.
  6. At the top right, tap Settings and then Voice & video calls > Call Providers > Meet.
  7. Follow the in-app instructions for set up.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi
