Viewing personal recipes on my Nest Max.

I am searching for a solution to a recipe storage issue.  I came across a post from ShawnaldDuck34 on 4/2/22 who seems to have the same issue.  His question was escalated and it seems responses were handled by email.  The responses were not included in the chain.  How do I find out if there was a solution to the issue?

Thanks!

I'm not sure if this was the answer that ShwanaldDuck received but I copied and pasted the below info from the following Google Nest Help Center Article: Cook with Your Google Assistant on Your Speaker or Smart Display

Note: You can access saved recipes on your smart display and in your Google app on Android. To access saved recipes in your Google app, open the app tap More (3 horizontal lines) > Collections. You can also find your saved recipes online at Google Collections.

Hi Riches,

Have you tried the Google Collections provided by MsDrasby? How was it? Also, for more information, check out this link too. Cook with Your Google Assistant on Your Speaker or Smart Display. It would also help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers. Plug them back in after 3 minutes tops. Restarting your phone might also help.

Tell us how it goes.

Regards,

Dan

Hi Dan_A.  Thanks for following up.  I have not been successful with getting a collection appearing on a Nest search.  I created a test collection to try it out named Exercise.  (Do I have to use a specific format when creating a collection name?)  I have asked Nest to show "My Exercise Collection".  But all it does is show a general search result from the internet.

I did try restarting the router, the Nest Max, and my phone (I did them all at once in the order you specified.  (Instead do I have to let each completely reboot before starting the second, etc.).  Didn't seem to make a difference.  Am I possibly missing any Settings?

Thanks again
Riches

Hey there,

We appreciate the response and the update. Try these steps and see the results:

  • You can access saved recipes on your smart display and in your Google app on Android. To access saved recipes in the Google app, open the app and then tap MoreMenu and then .
  • You can also see their saved recipes online at Google Collections.

You can also focus on these voice commands:

Save a recipe ― "Save", "Save this recipe", "Add this recipe to my cookbook"

Access saved recipes ― "Show me my Cookbook", "Show my saved recipes"

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Dan

What if I want to create a recipe? Is there a way to incorporate Keep Notes? I love cooking with my Nest Hub Max, but i have lots of recipes I would like to add manually.

Hi folks,

@Mkgreen329, I understand that this would be a helpful feature, however this option is not available. In line of this, we want to encourage you to send feedback from your end and we’re hoping for all the possibilities by taking our user’s feedback and suggestions.

@Riches, have you seen my last response? Have you had the chance to try the steps? How is it?

Cheers,

Dan

I did try different things this weekend.  The only way I could get anything to work via the Nest Max was to search for a specific recipe by giving it the full site name plus the recipe name.  Then checking what was returned and opening the specific recipe.  Then I could save it to My Cookbook.

Once I have it saved on the Nest, should I be able to see it on my other Android devices (Pixel phone, Chromebook)?

The only place I can see the Google app is on the Pixel.  Should I be able to get to this App on the Nest?

Also, I can only see the Collections on the Pixel.  Should I be able to see this on the Nest?

Thanks!  Riches

Hi Riches,

Once recipes are saved online at Google collections, you should be able to see them on your devices as long as your account is signed in.

If you’re using a computer, you simply need to visit your Collections by typing https://goo.gle/3YcZGQr into the browser. You can also access Google app then Collections.

Refer to this link about Google collections and here's how to manage them. Also, other commands and steps are found above, please check it out.

Cheers,

Dan
