Voice match doesn’t work and the display won’t respond to commands without it

Very frustrating experience where Voice Match continually doesn’t recognize our voices properly. If you have a cold, or are slightly too far away, it says the voice match doesn’t work. We also have kids in the house and they want to be able to give Google commands. So I thought we could turn it off, But when I turn off the voice match, it no longer allows us to add items to our shopping list. I’ve gone round and round in the settings and forums and haven’t found anything that works yet. Please help!

Hi @G00gleBeDumb!

Thanks for posting in the community.
I’m sorry for the inconvenience that you’ve been experiencing with your speaker and the Voice Match. I can see that it won’t recognize the voices if you are far from the device or if you have a cold, so here I send you the feedback form where you can put your suggestions about Voice Match.
Up to six people can use Voice Match on a single Google Nest or Home speaker or display. If you want to let your child use Google Assistant on your devices and don’t turn off the Voice Match, you can check the following article where you can find all the information that you need: Let your child use Google Assistant on your devices
If you have any other questions, you can keep posting.

Best regards,

Derick.
