Weather Frog turn off

In my Home app, I have turned off the Experimental option under photo frame. It keeps resetting to on and the weather frog art pops in randomly on my Google Photos selection. When I go back into Experimental, it is turned on again, and when I go back to Photo Frame, the Google Photos option is not active and Art Gallery is. How do I stop the frog?

Hi @Bobj10!

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that the experimental option keeps resetting to on in the Google Home app and the weather frog shows up randomly on your Google Photos selection. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • Is the Google Home app up to date?
  • Are you using an Android or iOS device?
  • Is your phone updated to the latest software version available?
  • Are you in the 'Public Preview' in the Google Home app?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Geremi

Hi GeremiG,

To answer your questions, I am using Android 15 on a Pixel Pro 9 XL. The Google Home app is vers 3.29.157.6 and I am in Public Preview. Both the Google display and my phone are on the 5g of my local network.

Hi @Bobj10!

Thanks for the update. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps.

  1. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. Tap Favorites or Devices.
  4. Tap and hold your device's tile.
  5. Tap Settings, and then Photo Frame.
  6. Then, set ‘Google Weather Frog’ to ‘Hide.'
  7. Verify that the option is already turned off, this may be reflected in the next 10 minutes on your devices.

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Geremi

GeremiG,

The deleting of the app and reinstalling was the solution. I now had the button to hide the weather frog. Thank you for the help.
