What happened to the character alarms?

Last night, when I tried to set up a character alarm, it didn’t ask for the character, it just asked for the time!  I rebooted it, but it still didn’t do it right!  I even did it on a device that it wouldn’t work on, and it had the same response!!!

Mine is doing it also. They was there when I used it last. Had to move so it was packed away a few months. Went to set it and they are gone.

I’m from the US, the character alarms were working before. the issue started around february i think? no changes have been made to my device and i’ve tried unplugging and rebooting and nothing has worked

I don't know if they've fixed it yet; does it work for anyone so far? I'm in Canada and I've been testing the "Set a character alarm" command every night so far without much success... it keeps setting a regular thing. (System Version: 324896 / Firmware Version: 1.56.324896)

We are experiencing the same issue.
Google home mini asking for “ hey google set a logo city alarm”. Google no longer responds that the Lego city alarm has been set.

Same issue here, when I ask google to set a character alarm it sets a normal alarm.  It's connected with no problems other than that.

This is exactly what happens to me as well. I’ve tried hard restarting the entire device and reconnecting it to my phone and to wifi, and still no change. The only function that doesn’t work is the character alarm. It will set a normal alarm instead of any of the character alarms.

Any updates on when this will be solved, Google? This happened briefly in December but it fixed itself after a few days…this time, no such luck. It’s been almost two months and it’d be great to hear an update from you. I really miss Leonardo waking me, lol! Thanks!!

It is unfortunate that the issue still hasn't been fixed after so long. No more hearing the ninja turtles to get up ready for the morning.

yeah that was honestly the whole reason i even got google home and made me look forward to the morning this really sucks :(( i wish they would give us some sort of answer

Same! TMNT alarms are the best. I really hope this gets fixed soon.

Ok, the weirdest thing happened.  When I tried a media alarm last night, it didn't work.  So, I tried the character alarm command and it DID work.  But then, this morning, I tried the character alarm command again, and it didn't work, but the media alarm command did work.  I don't know what's happening!

That's seriously unfortunate to hear, It would be great if these alarms starting working again. This whole situation is honestly confusing.

Google...any update on this problem?  You have many customer comments here and it seems as if  you aren't even attempting to fix this issue.  It delighted kids, young and old to hear these alarms.

Same issue here. Have been struggling with this thing since late February/early March. Incredibly disappointed that this is still an issue, especially with all of this concern after all this time. I pretty much got my Google Nest just for the character alarms, too.

I just wanted to add my name to those unable to set character alarms.

I did want to add that there definitely was some sort of update to Home regarding the alarms, since there is a noticeable difference in the responses now. For example, if you snooze the alarm, the response is pretty different now.

In any case, I hope the specialists will give us an update. These character alarms are one of the things that separate Google home from Alexa, and so it's really in their best interests to fix this issue.

Adding my name to the list waiting for an update. The main reason I switched from Alexa in the first place was for these and the fact that these alarms actually would wake me up no matter what. Now I have to be afraid of overstepping and its been since February... wow.

Same problem here. no one from the company ever got back to me, so after 6 months now I gave up and sold my nest speakers. I think they just discontinued the character alarms without saying anything.

Same issue for me, happening on regular Home and minis. When I say create a character alarm at 7am everyday I expect it to ask me what type of alarm but it just creates a regular alarm not character.

I’m having the same problem which sucks cause I had gotten excited when I first found out it could do tmnt alarms and it had worked at the time
