Why Has Google Killed The Lenovo Smart Clock Essential

SO it would appear in the last few days google has released a software update designed to make the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential completely useless. It now reboots every 5 minutes. 

Now while I understand that Google may no longer want to support these devices what gives you the right to render someones perfectly working device useless. 

I will be checking with the ACCC as I'm pretty sure this will be considered a violation of customers rights. 

I'm no longer a supporter of Google products and at least this now gives me the opportunity to get ride of the last few Google devices I have.

Please let us know if a fix is imminent or if we have to toss these into our recycle bins and go shopping. People rely on these clocks for alarms, bed time stories, etc. This is insane.
