Hello,
I have a first generation google home that I bought in 2018.
It’s now 2024 and I’m trying to set it up after it’s been in a box for 4 years.
I can connect to it and set it up however upon completion, when I say hey google, it says
“your google home is not set up yet, download the app to get started”
During setup when it says updating, there are no lights on the google home.
I've tried different wifis, hotspots, etcetera but nothing works for it to answer me like a normal google home.
what can I do?

Yeah, a few times by holding the mute button until the lights go all the way around

Maybe, since your Google Home has not been online for at least 4 years, its firmware is out of sync with the current version of the Google Home app. I wonder if you left it plugged in for a couple of days, it might update the firmware and start working. It's just a wild guess.

Not a bad recommendation actually, it might just work!
thanks 🙏
