Workaround for AP Isolation for use in Dorm

GusMan90
Community Member

Son is heading to college - wanted to take his Nest device with him.  However because of the AP isolation issue, we know it wont work.  Is there any sort of true workaround for something like this or a possible future update for this to be resolved?

Thanks!

Hi GusMan90,

Google Nest and Google Home devices are designed for use on private, secure home network's and not public or large private network's.

The options most used by other users are either contact the network administrator and ask for their advice or ask them if you are allowed to use a travel router/mini router on their network to create your own secure private network from their connection.
