YouTube TV isn't installed at the moment

When I say "Hey Google.  Watch ABC on Kitchen TV"  (My Chromecast w/Google TV), Google responds with "YouTube TV isn't installed at the moment" and it launches YTTV on the TV from the Play Store, where I have to option to open YTTV.

Previously, this command would have launched YTTV & switched to the requested channel.  I have the same issue with Hub (Gen2) & TV in my office

Hey folks,

I see your messages and I apologize for the delay. This is still actively being worked on by the team, I don't have any other information to provide at this moment. I'm going to pin this response as the "answer" so other folks can see the acknowledgement if they visit the thread.

Thank you for the patience,
Kelan

I agree. If this is not going to get fixed, please say so.

Broken automations after adding these to all my TVs. Guess I'm going back to Roku since they still work. Haven't even received my upgraded (lol) new streamers. It's tough being so heavy in Google services/products since they have so much trouble maintaining current functions. This seems to be an issue across the board

I'm having the same issue, any updates?

You're not alone! Still having the channel changing problems on all of my YouTube TV devices.  You think by now with Christmas and the holidays coming Google would put it all out effort into getting this problem fixed.

 still waiting for a fix…

I'm having this issue right now. Is there an update here? This is unacceptable.

Same issue here. It never worked great, but is currently totally broken.

Yeah never worked great for me but it did work.  It's been weeks and months and still no resolution.  Selling new devices with known problems still not fixed.  I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S24  FE and I would have bought a new Google Pixel phone, but because of this issue with Google Assistant and  Google HD why reward them?  They will probably abandon them just as soon as they lose their antitrust lawsuit.   I would have bought an Apple phone that I can afford them either!

It's working again — ran a software update and voila. Can't believe that took 3 months to fix 😩

Did the software update weeks ago.. not the fix. Probably a server side fix was completed

Confirmed. It is working for me as of today. I tested yesterday (and it did not work yesterday), so whatever changed (with this lack of transparency) happened today.

This appears to be working for me also which is great, but I want to see it work for at least a week straight before we call it fixed.  Its worth noting that there were definitely some server side updates done, I noticed that the smart home ack "chime" has changed a bit so I wonder if this was scope of that update.

Was *not* working for me at 6:00AM EDT today (I have a "good morning" routine that tries to turn on the TV and tune to local news on YouTube TV) but upon seeing these updates, I tried it and it's working -- I didn't manually update anything...

tl;dr seems to have been fixed after 06:00 EDT today

Thanks Google!

Finally started working again today....happy to have it back on line.
What took them so long?
But....better late than never.

Ok so this part is working BUT, when asking for a specific channel I still randomly get "cbs" is not available or can not be played at the moment. I have youtube TV.  Is anyone else having this issue now?

Since when we had this updated

Google Assistant correctly recognized my HiSense TV for one day last week. Now instead of reporting YouTube TV isn't installed at the moment, Google Assistant asks me which YV I want to watch my selection on, and lists three other Tvs but not the TV I want to control.

Worked for a few weeks and now is not working again for me.  Anyone else having issues?

Everything still works for me on two different LCDs with two different Google TVs.

Same experience. Sometimes it works. Other times not.

Same here — it seems to work 50% of the time which is super weird and frustrating.
