calling my grandpa's someone on their echo show?

I have been in the google echosystem and I just ordered a nest hub 2nd gen.

I recently discovered that we can download the alexa app for iphone and video call someone who has an echo show or has the alexa app on their phone whether it is android or iphone.. Remarkably, my grandpa even called me back on video call to see our newborn and he didn't really know what he was doing! Which is so awesome.. 

I'm just a little curious to know if i can reach my grandpa using the google nest hub 2nd gen in this way? I don't know if there might be some other app like the alexa app on his android phone or on his echo show which he might be able to answer my video calls like this? It is probably fine to just keep using the alexa app like this though.
