So frustrating!

This behavior started this morning after 3 3am pst.

Turn on "anything you like" spoken to any smart speaker or phone results in a verbal " Sorry I don't understand" response.

I can still turn things on and off using the Google home app by pushing the buttons.

I can still execute routines verbally.

This sucks.  How can Google break something so basic?  This is definitely not a feature.  Google must have changed server software without adequate testing.  I'm not quite sure why this seems to happen so frequently.

Hey folks,

I can confirm that this issue should now be resolved. You can now go back to using your Google Home/Nest devices to control your smart devices. If for some reason you’re still experiencing problems, please try to reinstall the Google Home app on your phone or reboot your speakers.

I'll keep the thread open for a few more days to make sure that everything is fixed. Feel free to update the thread if you still need help.

Cheers,
Muddi

yeah its defo a software bug

I'm glad it's not just mine as I just swapped all my bulbs in my house today for smart ones and thought maybe I've messed up somewhere even though working earlier but obviously their fault not mine. What a pain

Hi all,

This is a currently known issue. Some users are reporting all is working as it should but our Community team recommends that if you are still having trouble to give it a bit more time.

It started working again about a hour after I posted

This has already been resolved Rachel. It was an issue with the Google Home software.
