Why can't you customize the cards or featured apps on any screen? Like, I'm never going to play games on this device but I'd love to be able to pull up cloud docs with recipes in them, see the to do list synced from my phone, see the traffic and how late my bus is going to be today, etc. The marketing suggests that you can integrate all these apps or whatever to the device but you just can't in any particularly easy to use way. And it's certainly not more useful than checking each app one by one from my phone. On the marketing page for the nest hub max it even says explicitly that you can customize your homepage and that's just completely untrue.
And not being able to get rid of the ad for Feed my Fish! From the landing page where you could put so many other way more useful things makes the whole thing feel cheap. Or like, i have no idea what Sling is but it's always a preferred app that I have to skip past to get to the few I actually want to use.
I thought I bought a device to orchestrate my home and consolidate the number of apps I need to check to get the information I find useful day to day, but this just isn't it.
