"Request Invite to Mange" not working

LZM

I'm trying to connect to my new google nest audio speakers.  My husband has his account set up and invited me to join.  I accepted and cannot get google assistant to do a voice match.  It says I need to set up a device in google home.  I see the 2 speakers but there is a button "Request Invite to Manage."  I've done this a few times and my husband's account sees nothing.

How do I fix this?

trying to fix shield tv to display google photo album.  clicked on the "Request Invite to Manage" button in home app doesn't seem to do anything.  I don't see any email or any notification on my shield tv to accept.  I had created a second name for my home network and google is getting confused.  They make it extremely hard to move all devices from the old house name to the new house name.  why why why....  my goodness.  It doesn't have to be this way.

Im facing the same issue I set up a Google home on my account amd invited my wife, but all the devices appear in her account as offline and the soeaker keeps replying to her that there is no home app linked whenever she request the speaker to do something but when I order the speaker it works fine. Any idea?

Hey folks,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I know how important it is to be able to share your home and devices with your wife - let's dig deeper.

A few questions:

  • When did the issue start?
  • What type of account does she have (Personal or Business)?
  • Does the same issue happen when you invite other accounts?
  • Is there an error message when accepting or inviting the account?
  • What is the current version of the Google Home app on your phone?

Please note that certain accounts don't have the ability to be a home member. When a customer tries to add the following types of accounts in the Google Home app, they get an error that they can't invite the email address. These accounts are: Google Workspace (formerly known as G Suite) accounts, Child or Unicorn accounts, and business accounts.

Looking forward to your response.

Cheers,

Muddi

It wasn’t about sharing with any family members for me.  The problems lies with creating a new home name.  If I create a new home name, the devices in the house are all attached to the original home still.  Migrating it should be simple since they are all connected to the same network.  That’s not the case.  I noticed we are suppose to drop it from the original home name first before adding to new name.  If we add to new home without dropping from old home this is where thing go bad.  Because I deleted the old home first with all the devices connected.  So when I created the new home all of my devices were still attached to old home and the app will not let me connect it to my new home name because in google backend somewhere my devices are still linked to the old home name.  You guys can fix this.  Just release the links if someone deletes the home name perhaps.

Hey MBEY,

Let's try these steps below that may help us fix the issue:

  1. Go to https://goo.gle/2OGzpIR
  2. Make sure to log in to the same email address linked on the Google Home app.
  3. Scroll down and tap "Your Devices," tap the three dots then "Remove."
  4. Go back to the security page then scroll down to see "Linked Accounts"
  5. Unlink third party accounts like home automation accounts and other services that you would like to remove.
  6. Factory reset your Google Home/Nest device.
  7. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app on your phone. Once done, set up your speaker on a new home structure then re-link your other devices.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi Princess,

Unfortunately the issue still on, nothing works on my wife's Google home account, all tue devices appears offline, we've done several rest deleting and adding the devices several times on her account never works it works only ony account, and whenever I invite her as house member still the devices appear offline to her, so I signed on my account on her phone, but also whenever she talks to the nest, the reply is "I can't find any samrt life device", however if I talk to the nest it will do my instructions perfectly.

Have same freaking problem. It seems nobody cares to fix this issue. I have been looking for solution no luck so far.

Doesn’t look like a fix is going to happen.  I think the only way to make it work is to start all over.  Remove and reset all devices and waste couple of days to add them all back into your devices.  I hate to have to do this but it bugs me it’s not done right.

We've even done that, didn't work.

Hi Karmi,

Thanks for trying the steps. Could you confirm if it's a regular Workspace account your wife's using? Or is it a paid Workspace account?

Best,

Princess

There is no way around this as google has not done anything to fix this problem and I don't see that changing any time soon.  I did a factory reset for all device in my home and everything is back in working order now.  It was painful but necessary to me.

Same here. Nothing worked so I did a hard reset on my Nest/Google wifi router and everything was magically ok again. You must have a 'home' name assigned and any devices you want in that 'home' must be assigned
