Hi Krunked,
Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear that the Nest Hub Max's Nest Cam is not finishing the configuration process. But don't worry; help is here. I just need to ask for some information to provide the best solution:
What error messages do you get when you try to set up the Nest Cam?
What part of the setup flow did you encounter issues with?
What’s the make and model of the mobile device you used for the setup?
What’s the Google Home app version?
What’s the firmware version of your Google Nest Hub Max?
What is the make and model of your router?
How far is the router from the device?
Please keep me posted.
Best regards,
Jenny

Hi,
I’m experiencing the same issue as described in earlier post.
Nest Hub Max camera will not complete setup - Google Nest Community
Unable to activate camera on Nest Hub Max - Google Nest Community
Google Nest Hub Max: "something went wrong" when s... - Google Nest Community
The camera has previously worked without any problems.
System Firmware: 28.20250723.103.2100
Home App Version: 4.2.51.1
What I’ve tried so far:
Reset the unit and performed a fresh setup.
Reset the unit again and left it powered off for several weeks.
Created a new Home and attempted to set up the camera there.
Uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my phone.
Tried setting up the camera using several other phones.

Same issue here. I have reset my hub Max three different times. I've restarted the app. I've uninstalled the home app. I've reset up every appliance in my home app. Nothing seems to work. Come on Google

After you have deleted the hub max from your current home, you have to wait a day before adding it again. Remember also the wifi connection, your phone/tablet and the hub max needs to be on the same wifi, either 2.4ghz or 5ghz.

It’s only the camera that can’t be configured. The device works perfectly fine otherwise.

Hmm weird. I have zero issues with my hub max, all things works as it should and I have a lot of google home equipment at my house. Do you use the qr code for the camera?
The qr code shows on the nest hub. But the setup page in the home app doesn't allow me to scan the code. The page only shows a spinning icon. And after a while it says "Something went wrong. Try again."

Seems weird, I did had one problem before adding the camera for a while go, it did say the same, but was added anyways after I restarted the hub max.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing the same behavior with the Nest Hub Max's Nest Cam during setup. I understand how difficult it can be when things don't work as expected.
Please, send your feedback through the Google Home app and include the following keyword in your report: “GHT3 Nest Hub Max camera failed to complete setup” and include as much detail as possible (such as when the situation occurs and any error messages displayed). This feedback will help us further investigate.
You can check the "Share feedback about Google Nest" article to find out how to do it.
I hope this information helps.
Regards,
Jenny

Same issue here 😞
Friday
I bought the Nest Hub Max few years ago set it up with no issues at all. I have just bought a second one and I am getting the same issue I can set it up but when setting the camera it goes to a loading then blank screen and says somethings gone wrong. I assume it's the latest update that is causing this as had no issue with the previous setup over year ago. I have factory reset turned restarted network all sets up fine until the camera setup.
Saturday
Same issue. Purchased hub max few days ago. Ran an update out of the box. All features working except nest cam set up.
Barcode appears on the display screen but home app does nothing and sticks on loading screen before a message saying something went wrong.
Tried reboot. WiFi on/off. Have no issues with other devices.
Monday
My Hub Max has now completed the cam setup. One thing I noticed was that as I bought it recently it was running a very old version of firmware. It took a while for the updates to catch up.
Even with the newest firmware the Cam setup failed with the "somethings gone wrong" message. As I use a DNS filtering service to block Malware and ads, I changed the DNS settings on my network to google (8.8.8.8) and after a couple more attempts (force closing Google Home app and re-opening to try again) the setup has successfully completed. I don't know if the DNS change made any difference but I thought I would post my experience in case it helps someone else. I have changed the DNS back to my original setting after and the cam still works.
