nest hub max

Hi I am looking at purchasing a nest hub max for my house.  Correct me if I am wrong but my understanding is that the nest hub max needs an internet connection and a phone paired to it.  My question is if I setup home contacts will my kids be able to use the nest hub max to make calls to people on the home contacts list if the phone that is paired with the nest hub max is not at home?

Hi sjuhawk99,

Thanks for posting. You are right you need a phone and WiFi connection to set up your Google Nest Hub Max. You're right, the kids can make calls to contacts on your Google Nest Hub Max, these contacts will be visible on the display and can be used by anyone with access to your device.

You can check the Allow others to make calls to your household contacts and the Set up household contacts on your speaker or display article for more information.

If you have any further questions please reply to this post, I'll be glad to help.

Regards,
Jenny.

Hi Jenny,

Thank you for getting back to me.  My main question is what happens if my phone is with me at work and my kids are home?  Can they still call other contacts stored on the nest hub max while my phone is with me at work?

Also can I limit which contacts my kids see?

Hi sjuhawk99,

Thank you very much for your response. You can set up a group of contacts on your Google Nest Hub Max to allow quick access for the kids in your home to make calls including if you are not at home, you can check the section Sync and edit your contacts to add just contacts that you want to have on the Google Nest Hub Max.

You can check the Set up household contacts on your speaker or display article for more information.

If you have any further questions please let me know.

Regards,
Jenny
