"Stop that timer" results in "okay stopping all tvs"

I've had 3 Next Hub Maxes for 3 years. They've gotten progressively worse. Like they no longer read the answers to questions that I asked, but simply bring up a Google results page - ironically with a Google AI answer at the top of the page. So I have to stop everything and go to the display to find the answer to my question. Recently, the timer stop command results in "ok stopping all tvs." I can see my command entered correctly on the Max. I've even set a custom command that when it hears those words, to stop a timer. Honestly, of the dozens and dozens of things I used to use my 3 Maxes for, this was about the only function that still even worked, and now it doesn't. So these things have basically become bricks that work as nothing more than a clock.

To stop a timer that is still counting down I say "Hey, Google, Cancel Timer"

On a Timer that has finished and is ringing..."Stop" (NO "Hey Google" required)

Hi folks!

@SmartHomeH-TAGS thanks for your recommendation.

@Anonymous_00 thanks for posting in the community.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience that you've been experiencing with your 3 Nest Hub Max and your TVs. I can see that you usually set some timers using the Google Assistant in your hubs; however, when you use the Google Assistant again to stop or cancel these timers, the TVs are turning off. You have already checked the Google results page and also created an automation to have the Google Assistant working as you want it working. Let me help you with this.

To further assist you, I need some extra information. Here are some questions for you:

  • What are the exact voice commands that you use to stop the timers?
  • When did the issue start?
  • What other troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?
  • Have you already tried using the voice commands provided on this thread? If so, what are the results?

I'll be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Daniel.
