I was watching YouTube from my iPhone to my chromecast, was working fine ever since the fix in march.
Then suddenly it went black, and cannot establish a connection to the chrome cast.
i've followed all your guides, even tried factory resetting, but when I hold the power button in, it doesnt do anything.
Held it in for 2 and a half minutes, and it didn’t blink or do anything.
ive unplugged the power source from the TV, and set it into the wall plug. Doesn’t change a thing.
i tested all ports on the TV (usb and hdmi), all works as supposed to.
any leads?

Hi @AndreasManden,
Thank you for posting in the Community. That's a puzzling situation with your Chromecast suddenly losing connection after it was working fine. Let's put our heads together and try a few more things to get it connected to your iPhone and streaming YouTube to your TV again.
To help me narrow things down, could you please tell me a bit more about your Chromecast and what you've observed?
Could you confirm the exact model of your Chromecast?
Have you tried using a different power adapter and cable with the Chromecast, just to make sure it's getting consistent power?
Leading up to when the screen went black, did you notice anything unusual with the Chromecast's performance, like flickering video, intermittent disconnections, or any error messages on the screen?
If you're unsure about your Chromecast model, this article might help you identify it: Chromecast and Google TV Streamer specifications.
Looking forward to hearing back from you so we can figure this out!
Best regards,
Kevin

Hi, yes of course
Since posting the issue, I have also had both the TV and chromecast unplugged for more than 24 hours.
And yes it still doesn’t work 😕

Though it does not help you with your current situation, I'm sorry, I would strongly suggest that in the future you do not use the TV's USB ports to provide power. Google does not recommend this because most TVs are designed to only expect data-sticks there and those draw a lot less power than a Chromecast Device.
I understand that it was working fine for you, but there's the chance that it contributed to a long-term failure. Also, those ports often power-down when you turn off the TV so your Chromecast was suddenly being shut off and turned back on over and over again. That adds more wear and that kept it from quietly getting updates overnight when you were not using it.

I’m sorry, but I just moved apartments, and then here first started using the TV usb like a month before it stopped working.
so you're telling me that I have used it almost daily for 7 years, and then it just dies because I use one of the TV's usb's. Even though I saw that recommended multiple places?
that’s wild.
