AUDIO in CHROMECAST

sremolar

Hi there!

Let's see if someone knows how to help me.

Whenever I send the screen of my laptop to the Chromecast if I send the 'source option' then the audio works perfectly without any problem, but when I send the 'desktop option', then the audio is heard in the laptop instead of through the loudspeakers of the device where I connected the Chromecast.

Does it have a solution?

Can you help me?

Thanks in advance!!!!

Hi sremolar,

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear about that. Let's sort this out.

Quick questions: What type of Chromecast device do you have? Are you using a windows laptop?

Try these steps:

  1. Close all the open browser tabs on the Chrome browser.
  2. Restart Chrome browser.
  3. Confirm if the Chrome browser is on the most recent version (51 or higher).
  4. Reboot your laptop.
  5. Disable Allow all sites to initiate mirroring. Here's how: On the the address bar, type chrome://flags > Look for Allow all sites to initiate mirroring and set to Disable > Click Save.

Note: To play the audio on the TV, use a Windows computer.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Thanks but I think there is no solution because I use a Mac and I think with Mac the desktop option with the audio does not work... 😞

Hey there,

Thanks for getting back to us. Could you try to unmute from Chrome while casting and check if you will hear the audio to your TV? If that workaround doesn't work, I'd suggest you send feedback using the Google Home app. Here's how.

Thanks,

Jennifer
