Audio disappears

Whenever I switch on my Google Streamer and load an app to watch video I get maybe 3 to 5 seconds of audio and then just silence. If I unplug and reseat the HDMI I get the same 3 to 5 seconds of audio and then nothing. Same result if I reboot the TV or streamer. Does anyone have any thoughts as I'm at my wits end
