Hi, @itsthemole!

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing intermittent black screen inconveniences with your Google TV Streamer 4K. I appreciate you taking the time to troubleshoot by verifying the HDMI cable, power cycling the devices, checking the TV firmware, adjusting display settings, testing with different 4K sources, and trying different HDMI ports. I'd be happy to help.

To better assist you, please let me know how long you've had the TV. In the meantime, please try these steps:

  • Reboot the Chromecast and TV:
    • Power off the TV and unplug both the TV and Chromecast from their power sources and the HDMI connection.
    • Wait one minute.
    • Plug the TV and Chromecast back into their power sources and wait 30 seconds.
    • Power on the TV and connect the Chromecast to the HDMI port.
  • Test on another TV (if possible):
    • Plug the Chromecast into another TV.
    • Test if the Chromecast works.
  • If the inconvenience persists, perform a factory reset. This will erase all data and require you to set up your Chromecast again. See this article for instructions: How to factory reset your Chromecast

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Ana

Hi, I have had the Philips TV for nearly five years and it supports  Dolby Vision  HLG  HDR10 and HDR10+ I have tried it using google chromecast 4k and firestick 4k all of which work flawlessly. Also the BBC i-player still  has not been added. (I have side loaded a working version) All three HDMI ports support 4K UHD 3840 x 2160 @60 Hz. I worked in Television production so have a knowledge of the parameters. Alyn (G1TBL)
