Bluetooth earbuds connected prevents video from playing on Jellyfin

I use Jellyfin to stream videos from a library. Videos that play fine when no Bluetooth earbuds are connected, fail with too many errors when they are connected. The only difference is that Samsung Earbuds2 pro are connected.

Jellyfin 0.17.8 on the Google Streamer

Jellyfin.Server 10.9.11.0 running on Linux

Before we get started with further troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:

 

  • When did the inconvenience start?
  • Do you have the same behavior with other apps when using your Samsung Earbuds 2 Pro on the Google TV Streamer 4K?
  • Have your Samsung Earbuds 2 Pro ever worked fine with the Google TV Streamer 4K?
  • Besides the Samsung Earbuds 2 Pro, do you have more Bluetooth devices connected to your Google TV Streamer 4K?
  • Have you tried to connect a different Bluetooth device to your Google TV Streamer 4K to check if that one works?
  • Have you tried to remove the Jellyfin app and install it again to resolve the inconvenience?

Hello, thanks for your reply.

To update I did find a workaround. If I start playing the video without the buds connected, then pause it, connect the buds (which happens automatically without leaving the video) then rewind to the beginning, then they work and audio/video are in sync.

This started about a month ago. Some videos, even though they are both in .mkv containers, one might work and one exhibits the problem.

No, earbuds work fine elsewhere, Jellyfin app on Roku device works fine. Also, Amazon Prime videos on the GTV streamer work no problem. The earbuds work with the same videos through the Kodi app. on the GTV streamer.

No other BT devices connected.

Haven't tried other BT devices.

I've tried stooping, clearing the cache/data, and deleting/reinstalling.

I know, weird.
