CCwGTV 4K update to Android 14 broke TV stream playback

My CCwGTV 4K received the latest update UTTC.241218.004, now I have Android 14.

This update broke playback of direct live TV stream in all the apps. It looks that all the h.264 FullHD streams are affected. The playback is like slow motion with judder and audio out of sync. All these apps worked perfectly fine before the update. Many users report the same (Reddit).

Source is DVB-C, TS stream from my cable TV provider.

Is this a known problem from Google's side? All the devices still on Android 12 are perfect.

Hey all,

Thank you for the discussion on this, the team would like to gather some additional info. If you could leave a reply to this comment with the following information, it would be greatly appreciated.

  • What does your setup for the TV and Chromecast with Google TV look like? How do you have your devices connected, peripherals, etc?
  • We're interested in how people watch cable TV on their Chromecast with Google TV. Do you have a device that takes your cable TV signal (DVB-C) and sends it over your Wi-Fi so you can watch it on your Chromecast? If yes, what's the brand of that cable-to-Wi-Fi device, and which app do you use for streaming (ie: Kodi)?

They don't give a **bleep**. Not a single post or acknowledgement about the problem. And it's been like 5 weeks for me now

I have the same problem as the guys above. After updating to Android 14 on Chromecast 4K. 😕

As you can see, no reaction from Google 😞

For me, this whole Google thing is a bunch of losers after distance learning, only the lack of money will appeal to them, so we should boycott the purchase of their equipment.

Hi all, the only solution I found for now, is to change your Tivimate (if you have IPTV problems) for IMplayer, it has option to use VLC as an internal player, so it doesn't have to open VLC alone to play channels. It has similar design as the Tivimate.

It prevents video to freeze.

I think it only fully works for Google Streamer but not for CCwGTV. I think the only option that fully works on CCwGTV is to use Vimu Player (vimu engine must be enabled in app settings)

Yes, I'm using Google streamer, at least it's working on this device with this option, maybe one day Google will fix that issue with H.264

This topic is about Chromecast. What works on one doesn't mean it works on another because they use different manufacturers' processors.

Pra que serve essa página? Parece que eles nem lêem nossas críticas! É importante o que estamos fazendo aqui? Até agora nenhuma atualização pra corrigir. Já fiz reset pra ver se melhorar e nada, só piorou.

This solution does not help when the problem is with the h.264 codec
Not all applications want to work with VLC.
Google should fix this ASAP or they will be able to stop producing these devices.

I know it's the problem with codec, I'm just saying if you want to watch IPTV on this device so it's good to use IMplayer, it has built-in VLC player si it doesn't have to open the app separately. I hope they will fix the issue.

Why do you keep suggesting watching through VLC? did you read all the posts? VLC won't help. You have another device with a different problem and in that case it worked but it won't work here.
