Can I use Chromecast with Google TV HD just for casting?

Hello All,

This might be confusing for everyone. But I want to use Chromecast with Google TV just like Google Chromecast 3rd Generation. I don't need a layer of Google TV OS running on top of it. Any possible ideas how we can do that?

I just need a backdrop with slideshow and device details on top right, no Google TV.

You can still just cast content to it like the previous Chromecast models. However, there’s no way to turn off the Google TV features. Perhaps the only thing you can do is turn off the personalised recommendations by enabling apps only mode.
