Can't disable virtual keyboard

It's impossible to disabled the virtual keyboard forever. Every single time I have to go to settings, keyboard, manage keyboard and enable than disable the virtual keyboard so that my Chromecast knows I disabled it. After that it actually works and show me the on screen keyboard but after using it once or twice. It goes back into this disabled virtual keyboard somehow... I have to go back in the settings and do it all again... I have done it 10 times already in less than 5min, it is a huge pain... How do I completely remove it

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing with the virtual keyboard that cannot be disabled. Don't worry; help is here.

Could you please confirm if you use these steps to disable the virtual keyboard?

1. At the bottom right, select the time.
2. Select Settings > Accessibility.
3. Under 'Keyboard and text input', turn off on-screen keyboard.

If that did not solve the situation, you can try to "reboot your Chromecast device", and after that, try to disable the virtual keyboard again.

Those are not the steps that I use to turn off the virtual Keyboard. These are the steps I take.

1. Hold the home button on the chromecast controller

2. Go into settings on the top right

3. Go into system

4. Go into keyboard

5. Go into manage keyboards

6. Disable virtual remote keyboard

After doing this, I start the application and I am able to type with the chromecast controller with the built screen keyboard that pops up. If I quit the application and start it again. When I go into the input box to start typing. It asks me to use the keyboard on my mobile device. I also tried rebooting, I done the same steps but after closing the application, like las time, it also did the same thing where it still asked me to use my mobile. It's almost as if the setting only works for only one application start.

I will look into recording my chromecast HD screen to show exactly the issue I am facing

Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry to hear that you are still experiencing this problem with the virtual keyboard on your Chromecast device. I appreciate the video that you sent; this is helpful to better understanding the problem. I just need to ask, is this situation just in one app or in every app on the Chromecast? Did you try any factory reset on the device?
