Hi Cassie2,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Nest Community! I understand that you are looking for a way to track your remote or have it emit a sound; I am happy to provide some information on how this works across different models. Also, thank you to Byteguy for jumping into this thread to assist.

Please note that only the Google TV Streamer (4K) remote includes the built-in speaker required for the "Find My Remote" feature. If you are using the Chromecast with Google TV (the circular dongle), it does not have a built-in speaker; therefore, it cannot play a sound to help you locate it.

While you are searching for your physical remote, you can use your smartphone as a fully functional replacement by following these steps:

  • Power on your TV and Google TV device.
  • Open the Google Home app on your mobile device.
  • Tap on your Chromecast or Google TV Streamer (4K) device.
  • On Android: Tap Remote at the bottom left of your screen to open the virtual controls.
  • On iOS: Tap Open remote at the bottom of the screen to use your virtual remote control.

You can also refer to this Google Help Center article for more information: Use your phone as the remote for your Chromecast or Google TV Streamer.

Please keep me posted if you have any further questions!

Best regards,

Virna

Then, the Help Center page needs to be updated.  It says "The Google TV Streamer (4K) and Chromecast with Google TV can help you locate your Google TV Streamer Voice Remote with the Find My Remote feature"  I added the bold.
