Cannot cast to Chromecast with Google TV.

I've setup the chromecast and is visible in the Google Home App. 

but I cannot cast from my Iphone, Macbook Air or even just a microsoft laptop.

What can I do to set this up , because this was the main reason that I bought this?

Are they on the same network? Are you sure you didn't put the device on the guest network? Can you transmit from your cell phone?

Remember front the PC you can cast Chrome or YouTube, you cannot cast entire desktop.

They're on the same network but cannot find this device to cast to. 

With my smart TV I can cast full iphone and ipad screen, but for this device it's not working

As I know you can't cast full screen on Windows, but only YouTube or Chrome tabs.

Yesterday I put everything back to factory settings and installed again. 
But I still have the same issue. I see on my screen the cast name 'Kelder' but on other devices I cannot find this. 
If someone has any idea what the issue is and how to solve this would help a lot.

  • What kind of Chromecast do you have? If you don’t know the model, check out this article: Chromecast specifications
  • When did the issue first occur?
  • When did you purchase this device?
  • Could you tell me what the status light is on your device? If so, what color is it?

In the meantime, check these steps.

 

  • Ensure when you are casting with your phone the Bluetooth is turned on.
  • Make sure you are using the local network on your Google Chromecast device.

Hope the below answers are suitable to find a solution. 
Because at this moment it's was a purchase done  for nothing an money badly spend. 

 

To anwser your questions :

  • Could you tell me what the status light is on your device? If so, what color is it?

> status light in white. I can use this for internal app's like spotify etc, but casting from my phone/laptop,ipad or macbook isn't working. Device cannot be found. 

 

In the meantime, check these steps.

 

  • Ensure when you are casting with your phone the Bluetooth is turned on.

> yes this is the case

  • Make sure you are using the local network on your Google Chromecast device.

> it's linked to my WIFI and also the other devices are on the same network.

  • Ensure that your Chromecast and Google Home apps are up-to-date.
  • I would like to know if you can see your Google Chromecast in the menu displayed when you pitch the cast icon of the different devices while trying to link. If you have the possibility to attach a picture, it would be awesome to get a better understanding.

Hi Daniel, 

 

Also checked the update and all have the latest versions. 

I see the device in my google home on the different devices, but don't see it when I pitch the cast icon on the same devices. 

But on the screen where the chromecast is connected to I see the cast icon with the name I've given and also the WiFi name. 

Could it be that their's something wrong with the Chromecast itself?
