Hello all i hope you’re having a good day.
Just need a little help setting up a chromecast. No idea what the problem with it is. The chromecast is brand new, bought yesterday. The chromecast is plugged in to power and hdmi on tv. Shows a white pulsating light. When turning on the chromecast it will show the “G” google symbol for about 5-10 seconds and then will go to no signal on the tv. Chromecast cannot be found in the home app to connect to.
The device has been rebooted a couple of times, along with the tv and the internet modem. Phone is definitely connected to wifi while trying to find chromecast on home app. The tv has been used for a different chromecast in the past.
Any help would be appreciated as ive tried all the troubleshooting steps ive seen for this online as i said above. Thanks.

Hi folks,
Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have, especially if the device is brand new. I assume that this is the Chromecast with Google TV since it is brand new. Unlike the older version (non-Google TV), which can only be setup using the Google Home App, the newer version would require you to pair the remote first, then choose the language before it prompts you to use the Google Home App to scan the QR code on the TV to proceed with setup. But without displaying anything on the screen, it can’t be done. I suggest you try it on another TV just to see if it’s the device itself that is acting up. Once confirmed, it would be best to have the device replaced since this is brand new.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Kimy
