I have Youtube premium and I frequently cast music videos from Youtube music to a Chromecast with google TV. I then have several google nest speakers setup in several rooms in my house with a music group. In the past I was able to first cast to the Chromecast then open Google home and under media add in the music group or any nest speakers and the videos would still continue to play on the screen while also casting the audio to those selected nest speakers. Several months ago this stopped working.
When I try now it looks like it is trying to cast to the music group or speakers then times out and says "Something went wrong. Please try again." I have tried with a couple different Chromecast. Also does the same if just trying to add in one nest instead of the music group and same issue.
What is weird is I can cast the video first to a Nest Hub display and then add the music group and that works. Though this is not what I would like to do. I need it to cast the video to the chrome cast.
Some other things I have tried. New router, rebooted all nest devices, added new nest speakers and tried with them. I have searched the forums and couldn't really find others with this exact issue

Hey there Draces,
I apologize for the late response, thank you for being patient! This is currently an issue that the Chromecast Engineering team is aware of, and are looking into. If you don't mind, would you be able to re-create the issue, then submit feedback via the Google Home app with logs enabled? That way, if there are any errors in the logs, the engineering team can use them to help figure this out.
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran

Hey there Draces,
Of course, and thank you for doing that! Those device logs are incredibly helpful to our engineering team when it comes to tracking down the source of these issues. In the meantime, do you have any more questions or need any additional help?
Thank you,
Jeran
