Casting to streamer.

Google stream is pure junk as it cannot do the most basic thing of casting. Casting from chrome barely works and casting from android does not have audio sync It is garbage and the new device I bought has to be replaced with Chromecast 4k. It was the most money I have ever wasted on such garbage.

Hi @LunaS,

Thank you for posting in the community. I’m sorry to hear about the casting issues you're experiencing with your Google streaming device. I understand how difficult it is to deal with audio sync delays and unstable connections. I appreciate you sharing those specific details about casting from both Chrome and Android. I'm happy to assist.

To gather the necessary information, please answer the following questions:

  • When you mention the "Google stream," could you confirm if you are using the Google TV Streamer (4K) or another Google streaming device? The following article might be helpful: Chromecast and Google TV Streamer specifications.
  • Does the audio sync issue happen across all apps (like YouTube, Netflix, or Prime Video), or is it specific to mirroring your Android screen?
  • Are your Google streaming device and your casting devices connected to the same Wi-Fi band (e.g., both on 5 GHz)?
  • Are you using any external audio equipment, such as a soundbar or Bluetooth speakers, connected to the streamer?

I'll be waiting for your reply.

Best regards,

Derick.

I understand how disappointing that feels, especially when casting is the main reason for buying the device. Before replacing it, you can try a few practical steps:

  • Make sure Chrome and the streaming device are fully updated.

  • Confirm both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, ideally 5GHz.

  • Restart the router and the device to refresh the connection.

  • In the Google Home app, adjust audio delay settings to fix sync issues.

  • Disable battery optimization for the apps you use to cast.

  • If problems continue, you can check now  for additional troubleshooting steps or perform a factory reset and set it up again from scratch.

Sometimes these issues are caused by network congestion or outdated firmware rather than hardware failure. Testing on a different Wi-Fi network can also help confirm whether the device itself is the problem.
