I recently bought a new Google TV which works fine but (I believe due to licencing issues) Google TV doesn't include some UK specific apps (e.g. BBC I-Player and Channel4.com, etc.). On my old TV, I used to cast content from these apps from my phone to a 2nd generation Chromecast. When i try to do the same with the new TV, it works fine with most apps (e.g., BBC I-Player is not preloaded on Google TV, but I can cast it from my phone). However, for some reasons that I can't figure out, the Channel4 app on my phone does not detect my new tv (even though the TV is connected to my Google Home network, uses the same wifi, etc.). When I click on the cast symbol from within the Channel4.com app, I am prompted to cast to the old Chromecast, even though it is no longer active, but there is no option to cast to my new TV. So I am thinking of plugging the old gen. chromecast to the new TV and use it specifically to cast from the Channel4 app. Does anyone know if this could work or whether it would cause some sort of conflict between the old external Chromecast and the new "Chromecast with Google tv" which is integrated within the TV? I am worried it could actually damage the TV itself. Hope it makes sense and thanks for reading so far.

Hi Mavarz,
Thanks for posting in the community! I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble casting Channel 4 with your Chromecast. If other apps cast successfully, the issue might lie with the Channel 4 app detecting Chromecast. I recommend contacting Channel 4 support for assistance. Using your older Chromecast shouldn't affect your TV's functionality.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Axel.
