So, I am really struggling connecting my Chromecast 2nd gen ( NC26A5).
I have a separated network called : My***Wifi2.4 ( which is set properly, split from the 5gHz one), and I manage to perform all the steps configuring the Chromecast, except when I am reaching the Wi-fi network's selection. There I get: "your chromecast was manufactured for another country..blablablah.. "
I do anyway " Proceed", I see the 2.4 wifi network in the list, I select it and then ( horror!) it says: "cannot connect, please reset your router or connect to another network"
I have changed my network settings to be compatible with this generation of chromecast, so I have:
802.11 b/g/n, bandwith 20/40, a specific channel between 1-10. I have in the Home app the country set to the same country as in the Router settings.
Then, I have the authentication to WPA2 PSK / AES. Besides all these, I did factory reset ( manual) for the Chromecast device, reset to the router, re-installed the Home app. NOTHING WORKS... :((
If anyone has any suggestions, please do share! Thank you!

Hi! Answering here your questions:
1. Have you tried connecting the Chromecast to the 5GHz band?
1. Yes, I tried. None of the bands is working. It gives me the same error.
2. Has the device ever been connected to your WiFi network before?
2. Yes, but at my previous home. I moved recently to a new place. And here it stopped working. But I configured the Wi fi network in the same way as previously.
3. Where did you purchase your Chromecast (2nd Gen)?
3. From an authorized online store (very similar to Amazon)
4. Is the Chromecast from the same region where you're currently using it?
4. Yes, that online store is the most popular in my country (eMag)
5. Are you using a VPN on the phone you're using for the setup process?
5. No, no VPN, no proxy, no IP filtering.
